Willie Deloise Johnson was born January 12, 1945 to Callie Beatrice Riggs and Willie Richardson in Frederick, OK where she attended Frederick Public Schools. She later moved to Lawton, OK where she met and married James Earl Johnson on May 19, 1969. She remained a faithful wife and a devoted mother. On her journey she met and touched the lives of many. She worked as a bus driver for Lawton Public Schools from 1975 to 1982. In 1982 she began working as a Certified Nursing Assistant for Joseph Nursing Facility which eventually merged into Western Hills Nursing Facility. In 1987 she became employed at Arlington Manor Nursing Facility working as an activity director until she retired in 1995. After retirement, she worked as a private sitter. She was a dedicated worker, and everyone loved her. She accepted Christ early in her life and joined Davis Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church in the early 70’s. She was a devoted member and served as a Steward, Stewardess, Choir Member, President of the Usher Board, and as a member of the Gertrude Davis Women’s Missionary Society. At the time of her passing she was a Class Leader and Stewardess Emeritus. Where there was a need, Sister Johnson was always there to assist. She organized the Food Basket Ministry and the quarterly birthday celebrations. Her presence will be truly missed at Davis Chapel.

Willie Johnson departed this life on December 30, 2019 in her home in Lawton, OK. She was preceded in death by her mother Beatrice Terrell Riggs, father Willie Richardson, stepfather Edward Riggs, her daughter Niecie McNeal, her brothers Freddie Bynum and Herbert Wilson, a niece Yvette Wilson, and her nephews Archie and William Shepherd and Eddie Bynum.

Willie leaves to cherish her memory her loving and devoted husband, James Earl Johnson, her daughter Selina Richardson, her sons Vincent Richardson, James Johnson, Jr. (Onreka) all of Lawton, OK, Victor Richardson of Dallas, TX, and a special niece/daughter, Yolanda Scott of Lawton, OK. She had 17 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Her siblings include Glenda James, Evon Allen, Kyle (Linda) Riggs and Nickalas Riggs, a host of nieces and nephews, and a very special girlfriend Era Moody.

The family will have a visitation on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.

Funeral services for Willie Deloise Johnson will be on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Grant Chapel AME Church, interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens under the direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
