Theodore 'Ted' Ulmer Jr.

Memorial service for Theodore "Ted" Ulmer Jr, 52, Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014, at Cameron Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Teel officiating. 

Mr. Ulmer Jr. died peacefully at his home Monday, Sept, 8, 2014.

He was born July 11, 1962, in Columbus, Ohio, to Theodore and Minnie Smith Ulmer. Ted graduated high school in Tampa, Fla. He enlisted in the United States Navy and was in the waters off Lebanon on the USS Nimitz. After his discharge from the Navy, Ted worked as a manager in the fast food industry. He was a volunteer firefighter at the Porter Hill Fire Department and a member of Cameron Baptist Church, where he sang and played guitar in the CR Group. He was diagnosed with cancer in October of 2012 and fought a courageous fight. Per his wishes, his body was donated to science. 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Survivors include his mother, Minnie, of the home; father, Theodore, of Toledo, Ohio; daughters: Minnie Danielle Ulmer and Amber Daisy Ulmer; sister, Mary Myers and husband Dean, of San Antonio, Texas; brother, Michael Ulmer and wife Jeanette, of San Antonio. He also has numerous extended family members and friends. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ted's name to the Leah M. Fitch Cancer Center, 104 NW 31st, Lawton 73506.
