Wrapping up tourney week
That's all folks at least until playoffs arrive.
In the busiest week until high school basketball playoffs arrive next month, county tournaments in Southwest Oklahoma provided plenty of fun-filled action with a multitude of exciting games.
Plenty of teams claimed hardware as they begin their next quest for respective state tournament berths.
In the Stephens County Tournament in Velma, the Comanche girls routed rival Marlow, 52-26, while the Marlow boys did the same to Comanche, winning the title 59-41.
At the Frazer Bank Invitational, the Tipton girls, the host, beat Duke and upset the eighth-ranked team in Class B, 41-36. No. 11 Duke won the boy's championship, defeating Blair, 70-59.
Over in Altus in the Tri-County Tournament, the Navajo girls kept rolling by blowing out Hobart, 62-32, in the championship. The Hobart boys made up for their counterpart by defeating Snyder, 57-45.
The Anadarko girls were the other team to secure a tournament title, winning the Heart of Oklahoma in Purcell by clobbering Vannoss, 44-25, in the championship.
