Central Middle School students cast ballots in polls of their very own
The students at Central Middle School cast their ballots Monday, and like the rest of us they have to wait until today to find out the results.
The students voted online on computer, the culmination of a week of learning about the election process, the candidates and even the seven state questions on today's ballot, said social studies teacher Tanja Pool. The students even produced their own voter ID cards.
Pool believes it's good experience for the youngsters, who'll be voting for real in not many years.
"It's good to make them aware of it early," she said.Sixth-graders Anastasia Thomas, Dusti Brewer and Kaysie Lee said voting for president was easy; the state questions required a lot more thought.
