Lawton police are investigating a Sunday night shooting that left a woman with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police responded to a call around 7:15 p.m. to the 6700 block of Southwest Forest Circle on the report of a shooting. A female victim told police she’d been shot while exiting a vehicle, according to Sgt. Tim Jenkins, Lawton Police information officer.
The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, he said.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Division were called to the scene to process evidence and speak with any witnesses.
“The suspects fled the scene, before police arrival, in an unknown vehicle,” he said. “The cause of the shooting is unknown at this time.”
More information will be released when it becomes available.
