Lawton police are investigating an alleged rape that occurred Monday night.

Police responded shortly after 10 p.m. to a convenience store in the 5200 block of West Lee Boulevard on the report of a rape. There officers met with a woman who said that a male who lives in her apartment complex in the 8100 block of North Gray Warr Place forced his way into her apartment and raped her, according to the report.

Officers reported the woman had several cuts to her forehead and upper lip as well as an abrasion to her neck. According to the report, the woman wouldn’t recall the male’s name but described him as a black male standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall with a stocky build, brown eyes and a crew-cut hairstyle.

The woman said she was able to get away from the male and leave her apartment. Once she made it to the convenience store, she called her father who, in turn, called police.

Once taken to the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE), an examination was made of the woman.

Police are continuing to investigate.
