A Lawton traffic stop last Thursday netted a fugitive from justice as well as just under 164 grams of methamphetamines along with drug paraphernalia.
The Cotton County Sheriff’s Department gave information to the Lawton Police Department in reference to a wanted man with information about his whereabouts. The traffic stop occurred at the corner of Flower Mound and East Gore Boulevard. His warrant was for possession of controlled dangerous substances with intent to distribute.
At approximately 2 p.m., police executed a search warrant on the vehicle driven by the suspect. While searching the vehicle, detectives found a large amount of methamphetamine, clear plastic baggies used to package narcotics and a black digital scale that had meth residue on it, according to the report.
The driver was transported to the Lawton Police station on said warrant. He was arrested and booked into jail for trafficking methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
