Lawton police are investigating a Saturday afternoon crash between a vehicle and a traffic pole that killed a woman, sent the driver to the hospital and closed Lee Boulevard.
Kayden Williams, 19, died from injuries sustained in the crash, according to Sgt. Tim Jenkins, LPD information officer.
Williams was riding in a Chevrolet Camaro driven by Cobe Ash shortly after 4:30 p.m. that crashed into a power pole near Southwest 38th Street while traveling westbound on Lee Boulevard.
Jenkins said that Ash, 20, was hospitalized in stable condition with unspecified injuries.
The Lawton Police Department Traffic Unit was called out to investigate the collision. Witnesses were transported to the station for interviews, Jenkins said.
Westbound Lee Boulevard traffic was closed to allow for the investigation, clean-up and repairs of the area.
