U.S. Fourth District Congressman Tom Cole, R-Oklahoma, responded to action by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to allow a House vote to name impeachment managers
Wednesday’s action will allow the House’s two impeachment articles against President Donald Trump to be sent to the Senate. Cole and other critics of the process said Pelosi has withheld the articles for four weeks.
“After House Democrats’ unfair and partisan rush to impeach the president last year, it is well past time that Speaker Pelosi release their so-called urgent articles to the Senate,” Cole said, in a statement. “As I have said before, Speaker Pelosi’s weeks long delay in an attempt to dictate the terms of the Senate trial is the height of political hypocrisy. Moreover, it shows that House Democrats know they failed to prove their impeachment case against President Trump.”
