Police say man with bat terrorized kids, chased neighbor
A man police said terrorized a group of kids and, with a bat, chased another man Sunday morning was arrested for assault, disturbing the peace and obstructing an officer.
Lawton Police Officer Gerardo Vallejo reported being called around 9 a.m. to the 2200 block Northwest 28th Street on a man with a cellphone who was taking pictures and recording video of kids at a bus stop.
The officer was waved down by a group of between 5 to 10 middle school-aged kids at the Lawton Public Schools’ bus stop who said a man had been using his phone to record them, the report states. The kids told Vallejo the man then chased another male down the road with a baseball bat right before his arrival.
