Old days offer new ways of thinking about history
Students from Noble High School experienced a slice of life in the 1800s while touring the Museum of the Great Plains trading post and fort Tuesday.
While walking steps through history under guidance of historical re-enactors-turned-educators, details revealed themselves through tactile education outside the grounds of the museum. In one corner, Steve Stricklin offered examples of the old flint-lock rifles of the early pioneers.
“They call me the gun expert,” he said, “you know what they say about experts.”
