County mails out property tax notices
The Comanche County Treasurer’s Office mailed out more than 54,000 tax notices to county property owners Friday, and those tax bills will reflect an increase.
The process is the start of the property tax season, the county’s official notification to most property tax owners that they owe their annual bill. For 2018, that means 54,078 individuals and mortgage companies will be receiving notification in coming days of what they owe in ad valorem taxes.
As usual, full payment or at least half of the payment is due by Dec. 31 to avoid a delinquency. The second half of the tax payment is due by March 31, 2019. County Treasurer Rhonda Brantley said that of the 54,078 parcels mailed Friday, about 20,000 will go to mortgage companies. The remainder will be sent to individual property owners.
