Comanches look to Supreme Court to halt Chickasaw casino development in Terral

Following the December decision by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals, the Comanche Nation is taking its case to the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) regarding another tribe’s casino infringing on tribal lands and gaming.

Richard Grellner, attorney for the Comanche Nation, is hoping SCOTUS justices will take the case regarding the tribe’s argument against the U.S. Department of the Interior (DOI) regarding the establishment of the Red River Chickasaw Casino near Terral. He has told The Constitution that he believes the Supreme Court has reaffirmed and strengthened claims of tribal lands since the 2012 Congressional recognition of what constitutes tribal lands (reservations and allotments).
