White perfect in short duty at Southwest Senior Bowl

Jason White had a perfect pass-completion rate Saturday.

The former University of Oklahoma quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner was without blemish. Didn't miss a fade route, out route or any of the like.

Nothing strayed.

"I probably threw 10-12 passes," White said after the performance. "They caught every one of 'em."

MacArthur's Barry Williams, Terrance Grimsley and Madison Phillips were the recipients. White, making a cameo appearance in Cache at the 25th Annual Southwest Senior Bowl, rarely shies from a chance to connect with young people.

"I try to be as active with 'em as possible," he said of handling appearances at high school events. Since chiseling his name into Sooner and college football lore, he's graced numerous all-star games and senior nights for prep players.

It'd be easy to show up and stay mostly hidden. But that's not White.

"I was in high school once. I know what they're thinking," he said. "To do something like (play catch), that's simple. And it's neat for me to see their athleticism."
