The Mike Warren sweepstakes is over.
Warren verbally committed to Iowa State and head coach Paul Rhoads during an official visit to the school Sunday, Lawton High assistant coach Ryan Breeze confirmed.
Warren chose the Cyclones over offers from Tulsa, Toledo, New Mexico, Washington State and Wake Forest among others. Warren had narrowed his choices to Tulsa and Iowa State before committing Sunday.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound running back becomes the Cyclones' 24th committment in the class of 2014. Warren joins fellow 2014 Cyclone-commit Martinez Syria of Houston, Texas as running backs that have pledged to ISU.
Rivals.com rates Warren, a 3-star recruit, as the 35th best running in the nation and seventh best player in the state of Oklahoma.
The LHS-star runner rushed for 2,512 yards and 26 touchdowns as a senior while eclipsing LHS single-season records for rushing yards and all-purpose yards.
Warren can officially sign with ISU Feb. 5.
