PBA hits Fort Sill
The PBA Fort Sill Southwest Open, presented by Columbia 300 will be in full swing by 9 this morning at Twin Oaks Bowling Center in Fort Sill.
This is the fifth consecutive year for Twin Oaks to host this star-studded event where at press time there were 64 professional bowlers in the line-up including past champions, local favorites and a couple of National touring Pro's whose names you will recognize immediately.
The event is divided into two squads with Squad "A" starting at 9 a.m. and Squad "B" starting at 2:30 p.m.
All bowlers will roll eight games of qualifying on the PBA Regional Tour Viper Oil pattern with the goal of making the top 1/3 in order to come back on Sunday morning for five more games and a shot at making the top 16 bracket match play finals.
Spectators are welcome at any and all of the weekend's festivities as you are sure to witness some of the best bowlers the sport has to offer, up close and personal.
And speaking of which, it is not too late to sign up and bowl in tonight's Pro-Am event that will start at 8 p.m. Bowl on the same lanes with three different professionals as they offer tips, advice or perhaps a bowling story or two as you enjoy three games of No-Tap scoring.
Professionals will move after each game and you can bet there will be some trash talking between them but it is all in fun and guaranteed to make you feel at ease.
Below is the list of bowlers as posted on the PBA Southwest Region tournament website.
