How Bolton's memory spurred me forward during KCM run

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — My mind was racing faster than my blistered feet.

While lunging up the dreaded hills north of the breathtaking J.C. Nichols Memorial Fountain in the plaza area, my legs begged for rest during the middle miles of the Kansas City half marathon.

Discomfort usually sinks in during the middle miles of long distance races, but no pain could slow me on Saturday morning through the streets of the City of Fountains.
