LHS, Mac, Ike hoops all in action

The pre-Christmas high school basketball tournaments are this week, but each of the three city schools have tuneups tonight.

Eisenhower hosts Bishop McGuinness for its home opener. MacArthur hosts rival Duncan. Lawton High travels to Midwest City.

The girls start the action at all three sites at 6 p.m. with the boys to follow.

True home opener

Eisenhower has already played in Lawton this season, but it was at Cameron where both squads handled Wichita Falls-Hirschi easily.

The boys get their first real test as they face the Class 5A state runner-up from last season. McGuiness moved up to 6A this year while Eisenhower moved down to 5A. McGuiness is known for stifling defense and winning low-scoring affairs. The No. 11 Irish (1-0) averaged 48 points per game last year in 28 games.
