Kaleb Kimball propels Mac past rival Lawton High in Bo Bowman
MacArthur sent a freshman to the mound.
The Highlanders started Kaleb Kimball to open Pool A play of the annual Bo Bowman Tournament on Thursday against Lawton High. For some, the tournament is an opportunity to develop young player. For others, it’s a chance to earn some needed victories. For all, it’s a barometer for who stacks up against whom in the area hierarchy.
As any 14-year-old might, Kimball had his ups and downs. He gave up a double to the second batter he faced but followed with a strikeout and a groundout to third to end the inning. When the bases were loaded in the second, he trusted the defense to come up with the outs needed.
Ultimately, there were more ups as Kimball did enough to lead the Highlanders to a 14-4 run-rule victory.
