Hall's 11 4th-quarter points lead Ike to regional title
Ginger Reece hit a 3-pointer to start the run, and Mikaela Hall took care of the rest.
The duo provided an electric 1-2 punch in the second half, helping No. 8 Eisenhower to its second-straight regional championship in a 54-45 win over Altus on Saturday afternoon.
Hall outscored the No. 16 Lady Bulldogs on her own in the fourth quarter, 11-10, to finish with a game-high 20 points. In all, the sophomore tallied 12 points in the second half.
“The grit and the hard work got into me, and I wanted to make sure we win,” Hall said. “I wanted to help out my team so we can go further.”
Reece added 13 points, 12 of which came on 3-balls. The Arkansas signee scored the game’s opening points, but thanks to the box-and-one defense Altus implemented on her, that was Reece’s only offensive contribution of the first half.
However, Hall’s emergence in the second half opened up shooting lanes for the senior, and she took advantage, hitting two 3-pointers in the third quarter and another in the fourth.
Reece opened the first, third and fourth quarters with a 3-ball.
