Falcons crash boards, edge Aggies, 93-89
Texas-Permian Basin’s chairmen of the boards stole the momentum from Cameron University in the second half Saturday and sparked the Falcons to a 93-89 Lone Star Conference victory over the Aggies.
UTPB used a 43-32 rebound margin and the hot shooting of guard Kyree Elder to raise their league record to 3-2 and their overall mark to 10-5.
Cameron, which led by 16 points in the first half, falls to 1-5 and 5-11.
Elder, a 6-4 transfer from Arkansas-Fort Smith, ripped the Ags for 34 points, hitting 12 of 21 shots from the floor featured by a 6 of 8 effort from 3-point range.
The Falcons followed his lead to hit 52.3 percent. Cameron finished at 43.9 after a torrid 58.3 in the first half.
