Doucette key point of LHS run play
Imagine being a high school linebacker and looking at Lawton High's offensive line. What you would see is five guys that all weigh 250 pounds or more on every snap.
Now imagine the Wolverines toss out a formation they hadn't shown before that consisted of bringing in all six-feet, 281 pounds of Dewayne Doucette as an extra tackle. If that wasn't unsettling enough, quarterback Jack Meservy motions Doucette from left to right and the big senior does it at a full sprint.
By the time he hits the outside of the line, Dakota Dukes snaps the ball to Meservy and he gives it to a tailback running behind Doucette on a full sprint, Devin Gates at 314 pounds and Jalin Barnett at 304 pounds.
In short, if you're that linebacker, you should be afraid.
"That puts a lot of beef out there in front of (Darreyl) Patterson, and it's a nasty looking play," Lawton High head coach Randy Breeze said. "We didn't have to show it the other night, but we decided to just to make other teams prepare for it. We've had it for a couple weeks, but haven't needed it. It's going to be tough to stop and prepare for."
