Apache enjoying new digs
After years of playing in one of the smallest gyms in the area, Apache fans are now turning out in big numbers to watch the Warriors in the spacious Apache Events Center.
And, those larger crowds have been vocal as well and it's helped the two teams forge 3-0 records at home and both are now 6-2 entering the holiday break.
"Our crowds have really been good and that has been motivating our players to play hard and try and keep this momentum going," girls coach Danny Miller said. "I've been in plenty of gyms around Oklahoma and this one is about as nice as they come."
One gripe that many fans have complained to Constitution staffers is the lack of legroom at many facilities but that's not the case at Apache.
"Everyone who had input on this facility made sure that was a priority and there is plenty of legroom for fans," Miller said. "It makes for a more enjoyable experience."
