Aggies fall at Kingsville, miss LSC tourney
KINGSVILLE, Texas Cameron needed a win Sunday to make the Lone State Conference tournament.
Instead, the Aggies managed just two hits in a 6-1 loss to Texas A&M-Kingsville, marking the end of CU's baseball season.
The Aggies' two hits came late, with Luke Hughes' triple in the seventh inning and Colton Adams' infield single in the eighth.
Cameron scored its lone run in the eighth inning when Kameron Good came home on a failed pickoff attempt by the Javelinas' pitcher. That made the score 3-1 in favor of the hosts.
Kingsville added three runs in the bottom of the eighth and then shut the CU batters down in the ninth.
Cameron finishes the season with a 15-32 overall record, 5-19 in conference.
