Opening of Urban Air will be celebrated today
Colby and Sarah Cates will celebrate the grand opening of their new Urban Air Adventure Park at 5324 Cache Road at 10 a.m. today.
Attractions include trampolines, a warrior battle beam, a warrior course, a tubes playground, a climbing hill, climbing walls, a ropes course and a sky rider. Participants must sign a waiver before they begin an adventure.
"We are bringing something to the community that's not being offered right now," Colby Cates said. "This adventure is for all ages, youth, teens and adults. We even have areas set aside for little ones so they can enjoy the adventure too."
Today's grand opening will include an Ultimate Fan Contest: The first 100 in the waiting line to buy a 2.5-hour jump pass at the door will receive free jumps for a year 52 one-hour jump passes.
Hours of operation are 3-8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; noon to 11 p.m. Friday; 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday; and noon to 8 p.m. Sunday. The park opens at 10 a.m. daily to all ages on school holidays and in the summer.
Two programs will open soon: Jumperoo, which is geared toward toddlers and preschoolers; and The Fitness Program, which is geared towards all ages and entails a month-to-month contract.
Other programs coming soon include Family Night, Air 456, Teen Night and U.A.D., Urban Air Dodgeball.
The general manager and all 70 employees were hired from the area, as were the contractors who built the venue.
"We want to provide excellent service in a safe, family-friendly environment," Colby Cates said. "We want to have every child who comes have great birthday celebrations. We also offer a variety of foods at the Urban Cafe."
