Warrant issued for Duncan man
A bench warrant was issued Thursday for a 57-year-old man who failed to show for his arraignment on a drug distribution charge related to a September raid at an east Duncan apartment complex.
William Randall Slay of Duncan failed to appear in Stephens County District Court on a charge of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance. Slay was one of 25 people caught up in a Sept. 13 sweep of suspected drug traffickers in Stephens County by the District 6 Task Force, agents of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics, the Stephens County Sheriff's Office and police from Duncan, Marlow and Comanche. The illegal drugs involved included methamphetamines, marijuana, crack cocaine and pharmaceuticals including Lortabs and steroids, according to a prior story. The operation came on the heels of an Aug. 30 drug sweep that resulted in the arrest of six suspected Duncan drug dealers operating out of Elm Terrace Apartments, 206 E. Elm. That operation was another collaboration between District Attorney Jason Hicks' task force and the OBN, with assistance by Duncan police and the sheriff's department.
