Walters man accused stabbing uncle 16 times

WALTERS — A 21-year-old Walters man is held on $100,000 bond after he was charged Thursday with stabbing his uncle at least 16 times.

Paul Elswick made his initial appearance in Cotton County District Court where he received a felony count of assault and battery with a deadly weapon, records indicate.

Walters police were called to a home in the 400 block of East Oklahoma Street around 8:30 a.m. Dec. 29 and arrived to find a man hanging out of a window in the back of the house, according to the court affidavit. The man, identified as Elswick’s uncle, was reported to be covered in blood and calling for help.
