Teen charged with robbing woman of car
A Duncan teen is expected to make his initial court appearance Monday after he was charged as a youthful offender with robbing a woman of her car.
The probable cause affidavit accusing Raiden Doane, 17, of felony robbery with a weapon, was filed Wednesday in Stephens County District Court, records indicate. He faces no less than five years in prison if convicted.
Doane is accused of the May 23 armed robbery of a woman's car, according to the charge. Duncan police began its investigation after the woman reported the theft. She told Duncan Police Detective William Fitzhugh that Doane, whom she barely knows, came to her Elm Terrace apartment and demanded the keys to her 2005 Ford Taurus. When she said no, he lifted up his shirt, put his hand on a gun in his waistband and said he was taking the car. When she said no again, he began to pull it out, she said, so she threw the keys at him and said "get outta here." The woman said he left with the vehicle and another man after saying he was bringing it back but he never did.
