Meridian man faces arson count
An arrest warrant was issued Thursday for a 21-year-old Meridian man accused of setting fire to a family home in Comanche.
A probable cause affidavit filed in Stephens County District Court charged Dustin Wayne Aragon with a felony count of second-degree arson, court records indicate. He faces up to 25 years in prison if convicted.
Family home set ablaze
Aragon is accused of setting fire to the house at 607 S. 4th in Comanche on Tuesday, according to the charge. Oklahoma State Fire Marshal Investigator Judah Sheppard stated that during his investigation he determined that the home owned by Billy and Amanda Aragon, and occupied by Dustin Aragon and Alanna Stone was set on fire by Aragon. The investigators identified the ignition source as an accelerant used on the cushions of a couch, located along the living room's east wall, the affidavit states.
