Man found guilty in Altus killing
After more than six hours, a Jackson County jury found Manuel Daniel Jr. guilty of murdering Melissa Bost in February 2012. Following six days of testimony and arguments the jury came back with the guilty verdict and recommended a life sentence without parole, according to District Attorney John Wampler. Daniel will return for sentencing in the next few weeks.
Daniel, 46, was accused of killing Bost and leaving her body in the rear of an SUV parked in the alleyway in the 1000 block of East Sutherland. Police found her body Feb. 28, 2012, with blood on her clothes and hair. It appeared she had fresh cuts on the fingers of her left hand. An autopsy showed she suffered injuries to her face, neck and hands, including several defensive wounds.
