Duncan man jailed for knife-point kidnapping
A 38-year-old Duncan man is in jail awaiting his initial appearance on a kidnapping charge.
Casey Shay Stephens was arrested by Duncan police on Jan. 3 and an arrest warrant was issued in Stephens County District Court for the felony charge of kidnapping after two or more felony convictions, records indicate. Due to prior convictions, he faces between 20 years and life in prison if convicted.
Stephens is accused of taking a woman and other people captive at knife point at a Duncan apartment. Investigators described an incident that helps collaborate the veracity of Stephens’ neck tattoo that reads “Psycho.”
Duncan Police Officer Ryan Atkinson said he and other officers were called shortly before 10:30 p.m. Jan. 3 to an apartment at 701 W. Pine Blvd. regarding a barricaded subject with a knife. A resident who was outside the apartment said Stephens was inside her apartment cutting himself and destroying items, according to the court affidavit.
