Art contest to be held for cover of CTAC playbills
DUNCAN Getting exposure for their work is a problem shared by many fine artists who have talent that goes unrecognized.
In an effort to spotlight some of the artists in the Stephens County area, the Chisholm Trail Arts Council is holding an art contest designed to reveal the talents of local artists, as well as creating a bit of income for the top three contestants.
With the 2018-19 season of activities starting up in July, Executive Director Darcy Reeves said, "Chisholm Trail Arts Council is holding an art contest for the 2018-19 playbill cover for the CTAC Live Concert Season.
"Entry in the contest is open to all artists, students and folks of all ages in the county and surrounding area. This is a great way for local artisans to get their work seen, and they can also make some money in the process."
All artwork must be original pieces using any form of medium, but the work needs to be one that can be easily reproduced in a print format.
In the contest, prizes are $100 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third. In addition to the cash prize, Reeves said, "The first-place artwork will be printed on the cover of the 2018-19 CTAC Live concert series playbill.
"More than 1,000 copies of the playbill will be printed and distributed to a variety of locations as part of publicizing the series."
