Arrests made in robbery of Altus store
ALTUS Altus police arrested two men Thursday in connection with an armed robbery of a local convenience store last month.
Acting on an Altus/Jackson County Crime Stoppers tip, investigators questioned the two suspects, both of whom are already in the Jackson County Jail on charges unrelated to the case. Police Chief Tim Murphy said one of the suspects confessed and told investigators that he and his accomplice committed the armed robbery that happened around 10 p.m. Feb. 26 at the Mr. Bills store, 401 W. Broadway. After entering the store, one of the suspects produced a gun and pointed it at the clerk. The second suspect stood at the front door. The suspects were described as black males, wearing dark clothing and had their faces covered. They later fled the scene with an undetermined amount of money.
