Andarko man injured
A single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon resulted in Tony James Toppan, 29, of Anadarko, being transported to Carnegie Hospital in stable condition with head injuries. The accident happened at approximately 4:54 p.m.
According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, Toppan was driving westbound on Oklahoma 9 when his Dodge Grand Caravan rolled 1 times after striking an enbankment.
6 miles from Mountain View when his 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan departed the roadway to the right. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle departed to the left, striking an embankment, rolling the vehicle 1 times. The driver was ejected from the right rear door and his legs were pinned by the vehicle. The vehicle was lifted by two good Samaritans so the driver could pull his legs out from under the vehicle.
The accident is being investigated as alcohol-related, according to the report by Trooper Scott Hazel of Troop M.
