EL RENO, Okla. (AP) — Four people were killed and another person was critically injured in a head-on collision early Saturday in central Oklahoma, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
The four, who have not been identified, were the driver and the three passengers in a westbound vehicle on the interstate near El Reno about 1:30 a.m. Saturday when it collided with a vehicle that was eastbound in the westbound lanes of traffic, according to an OHP report.
The vehicle carrying the four, who are believed to be three adults and a juvenile girl, then caught fire, the report said.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle, identified as Ashley Louise Ricks, 33, of Moore, was hospitalized in critical condition.
Investigators have not determined the condition of the two drivers and the cause of the crash remained under investigation as well, according to the OHP.
