For many couples, there's a wedding day approaching with a never-ending to-do list. Choosing the venues, music, food services, outfits, photos, videos, travel plans and more becomes a daunting task as time goes on.
Pat Reynolds, owner of Journey Productions, hopes to ease the planning process with the eighth annual "Journey for the Bride and Groom Bridal Fair" featuring several vendors' offering their services for the big day. The fair will be from 1-4 p.m. Sunday at the Great Plains Coliseum Annex, 920 S. Sheridan. Admission is $3 and the fair is open to everyone.
"We've got a really good track record; we have around 550 people come through each year," Reynolds said. "We have local wedding vendors, with everything from photographers to caterers, DJ services, flowers, cakes ... it's all pretty well covered here. We've been the only bridal fair here for two to three years now."
Though Journey Productions, a local event service and supply company, is hosting the event, Reynolds said there will be other event businesses alongside his own booth. Currently, nearly 30 vendors are registered, including Allure Bridal Boutique, Creative Occasions, Edward's Men's Wear, Empire Limousine and Transportation, Enchanted Events Decorating & Design, and Lighting Events Dramatically.
"It's a great opportunity for the brides and grooms to come and have a chance to see local vendors, visit with them, sample things and maybe make some decisions at the fair," he said. "From a vendor aspect, it works very well for us. We get to meet a lot of brides and grooms and their family. A lot of the vendors will give discounts and have special deals, so it's a good chance to look around."
