Auditions for a local performance of "Oklahoma's Best Dance Crew" have been moved and will be held beginning at 6 p.m. Sept. 17 through Sept. 21 at the H.E. King Community Center, 1705 NW 20th. This event is not affiliated with the television show "America's Best Dance Crew," but will be organized in a similar fashion.
The performance is a fundraiser for a new after-school program in Lawton.
Ten dance groups will be chosen. Each dance group can consist of four to eight people between the ages of 6 years old and 21.
Competitions will begin Oct. 5 and will take place every other week. There is a grand prize of $1,000 for the winning group at the event finale in February 2013.
There will be a $25 registration fee for each dance group and tickets to the competition will be $5 in advance and $7 at the door. For more information, contact Shamika Oliver-Adams at 458-7199 or Sabrina Bacon at 357-7078.
