The bookends to the MacArthur defense have been waiting on this moment for a long time.
After all the years of hard work and extra hours in the gym and film room, things are paying off for Derek Block and Dezmond Vassar.
The duo has been pretty successful this season, pressuring quarterbacks with efficiency.
"We key off each other a lot," Vassar said. "When he goes one way, I go the other. We know we have to contain the outsides so we try to do our best doing that."
Block went a step further and talked about how the two are always learning from each other always getting better.
"We just watch each other and we will see if they have a good move and if we like it we will try it out and if it doesn't work out we will ask how he does it and hopefully it will catch on," he said.
Injuries play havoc on Block
Entering the season, Block was already penciled in as a starter and everyone knew he was going to produce.
Then the injury bug bit.
Now that he is back to near 100 percent, Block knows that he has overcome a lot to be successful.
