Lawton High was able to scratch out a couple of runs and hang on late for a 2-1 victory over Eisenhower on Senior Night Monday.
Up 2-1 in the top of the seventh, Chelsey Langford hit Christine Murrain with the first pitch of the inning. Langford induced two consecutive pop-outs before CeCe Gillian slapped a ball to third base. LHS third baseman Sadie Price stumbled as she fielded the ball, regained her balance and then threw the ball out of play.
The Eagles had runners on second and third with two outs. Kayla Johnson worked the count full before popping up to first to end the game.
"It was a great win, we've been struggling so we needed any win," LHS head coach Kyle Brierton said. "Eisenhower is a lot better than they have been and they played really well defensively. We didn't hit the ball tonight. We've been in a slump for a while."
After sitting the Eagles down in order in the top of the first, LHS (15-17) scored the game's first run in the bottom of the inning. Jordan Grochow led off the inning with a walk and stole second base.
