The Cowboys piled up 636 yards of offense, the second straight week they eclipsed 600 yards, and scored 38 points.
Those weren't the numbers that mattered.
Lunt threw three interceptions and Oklahoma State set a school record with 167 penalty yards, sending the 18th-ranked Cowboys to a frustrating 59-38 loss to Arizona in the desert on Saturday night.
"Way too many mistakes," Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy said. "It was poor coaching and poor playing. That's a bad combination."
Arizona (2-0) fell into a quick 14-0 hole before scoring the next 30 points as Oklahoma State (1-1) unraveled under a shower of yellow flags. Even with all the penalties, the Cowboys settled down enough to rally within two points late in the third quarter.
The Wildcats wouldn't let them any closer, scoring 29 points after the 3-minute mark of the third quarter to run away of the third quarter to run away from the Cowboys.
