Charles Ellington shows his second gospel CD, “Transformation.” He will be at The Salt Cellar today to sign the album.

Local pastor to sign new CD today

The name of Charles Ellington's new gospel CD, "Transformation," is not only a reflection of his music, but also his ministry.

"I transformed my music from the word of God. That is my focus here ... It is all to serve one purpose, to inspire and encourage," said Ellington, pastor of Hope Deliverance Temple No. 4. The release of the CD in November 2013 coincided with his decision to commit to a full-time ministry and now "my job is my church and my music."

Ellington will be at The Salt Cellar, 3801 NW Cache Road, from noon to 2 p.m. today to sign his "Transformation" CD. His first CD, "Just Me," released in 2005, will also be available.

"Transformation," which is full of gospel and worship songs, will appeal to many because the songs reflect various styles, including traditional, contemporary, R&B, Southern soul and old-time music.

He hopes that the message behind his music will transform those who listen to it.
