CEMENT Funeral for Thelma M. Chaney, 83, Cement, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at Family Life Church in Cyril with Pastor Donnie Miller officiating.
Burial will follow in Cement Cemetery under direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home, Lawton.
Thelma M. Chaney passed away Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, in Corn. She was born March 21, 1934, in Dallas to Chester Earl and Mabel Powers Phelps. She married James Franklin Chaney on May 1, 1952, in Dallas. He passed away Jan. 12, 1981. She worked for the Cyril News as a data processor and retired from civil service at Fort Sill as a bookkeeper after 15 years of service. She was an avid league bowler, and she enjoyed dancing and working crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her four children: Mike Chaney and wife, Cindy, of Cement, and their children, Kelly and Michael Lewis, and two great grandchildren, Mollie and Buddy Tehauno, and two great-grandchildren, Tera and Cody Wood and Trevor and Makalyn Chaney, and two great-grandchildren, Todd and Melanie Raasch, and two great-grand children, Tyson and Dana Raasch, and six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; Doug Chaney and wife, Tammy, of Cement and their children, Melissa and Sean Wiederkehr, and two great-grandchildren, Amanda and Les Mowles, and three great-grandchildren, Samantha Chaney, Jon and Tabitha Sullivan, and one great-grandchild, Cassie and Ryan Chastain, and three great-grandchildren, Sharon's (deceased) children, James Ray Cross, and four great-grandchildren, Tyler Cross; Ricky Chaney and wife, Tammy, of Cement and their children, Clifford and Jenna Chaney, and two great-grandchildren, Michael Chaney, Ethan Chaney, and one-great grandchild; Brenda Cole and husband, Duff, of Fletcher and their children, Greg and Megan Cole, and three great-grandchildren and Chad and Julie Cole and two great-grandchildren, a sister, Ona Pearl (Dody) Tincher, of Mesquite and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a son, Steven Chaney;a daughter, Sharon Cross; a great-granddaughter, Kailyn Michelle Cole; and two brothers: Chester and Bobby Phelps.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at the funeral home.
