Services for Stefan Rushing, 14, Lawton, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel with the Rev. Michael Wood, from Bethel United Methodist Church, officiating.
His short life ended at his home in Lawton Monday, Jan. 20, 2014.
Visitation is scheduled from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Stefan Rushing was born Dec. 5, 1999, in Lawton, to Uwe and Lavonne (Bynum) Rushing. He was in the eighth grade at Central Middle School in Lawton. He was a member of the Chess Club, Science Club, and was selected to be a member of the National Junior Honor Society. His aspirations were similar to many young men his age, to be a professional soccer player, start his own rock band, or maybe follow his brother's footsteps and go to school to become a pharmacist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, rappelling, playing his guitar, soccer, and spending time just hanging out with family or friends.
Stefan is survived by his mother, Lavonne Bynum, Lawton; brother, Thorsten Rushing, Lawton; grandparents, Marcelle Bynum and Richard and Adelinde Rushing, all of Lawton; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Memorial contributions may be made in Thorsten Rushing's name at any Liberty National Bank or Ft Sill Federal Credit Union branch.
