STERLING Funeral for Odell Carr, 70, Sterling, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Donnie Miller of Family Life Church, Cyril, officiating.
Burial will follow in Sterling Cemetery.
Odell Carr died Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at his home in Sterling.
He was born June 16, 1947, in Nashville, Ark., to J.W. and Hazel E. (Adams) Cox, and later adopted by his stepfather, Herman E. Carr. Odell later married his wife Ester and they were married until her death in 2000.
As a teenager he worked for the Job Corps in New Mexico for a couple of years. Odell worked as a dishwasher, busboy, and host at The Round Up Restaurant in Oklahoma City. He loved car shows and had an extensive collection of diecast and Hot Wheels cars, garage sales (picking) and watching TV, especially wrestling. Odell was an avid OU fan and enjoyed his neighbors along with going to the nutrition center. He enjoyed his time with his beloved dog, Charlie, as well.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Byrd and husband Earl of Sterling; a brother, Lonnie Carr of Wichita, Kan.; nephews: Jason Ferchaud and his wife Lori and their children: Lyric, Elijah, and Scarlett, Bruce McMillian, Larry McMillian, Phillip McMillian; and Matthew Carr and his son, Jaxsyn Carr; nieces: Tammy Lane and husband Greg and daughter, Rachel Lane and her son Adrian; Elvira Harley and husband Luther and children: Joshua Johnson, Davon Harris, and Jamar Harris; and Melody Carr and her children: Jade, Eian, and Devin Carr. Odell is also survived by his good friends: Jim and Debbie Vantine; and his dog, Charlie.
He weas preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters: Patsy Johnson and June McMillian.
