Mikel Ann (Johnson) Boyd
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. A private memorial for Mikel Ann (Johnson) Boyd, 81, Apple Valley, Calif., will be in March, date yet to be determined, in San Bernardino, Calif.
Mrs. Boyd died the morning of Jan. 25, 2018, and she was cremated.
She was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Lawton, to her late-parents, Harold Johnson and Eleanor Coontz. She married Walter Kent Boyd in January 1967, in Ridgefield, Conn.
Mikel studied ballet in Lawton as a young girl at the Storey and Barton School of Dance, and ballet became the passion of her life. She later studied and graduated to become a Royal Ballet Dance Instructor, and taught ballet in Southern California for many years.
Mikel also worked for the family business, MacroAir Technologies, started by Walter and son Eddie. She retired in 2000 to pursue her hobbies of writing and history.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; son, Edward Boyd, daughter-in-law Nancy, of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; daughter, Tracy Potter, Riverside, Calif.; a sister, Eleanor "Reddy" Kerkham, College Park, Md.; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Edward Johnson.
