Memorial service for John Daniel Miller Jr., 30, Lawton, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Whinery-Huddleston Chapel, with Pastor Bob Weger officiating.
He died at a Lawton hospital on Sunday, Jan. 19, 2014, with his wife at his side.
Arrangements are under direction of Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service.
John Daniel Miller Jr, was born Sept. 11, 1983, in Collinsville, to John Daniel Miller Sr. and Donna Hedgecock Miller. He was raised and attended school in Lawton. He graduated from Lawton High School in 2001. He married his high school sweetheart, Amanda, in December 2004. Together they have three beautiful children, Tristen, Isaiah and Aden.
In 2008, he joined the Army. His awards include: Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and the Army Service Ribbon. He was proud to be an American and was hard working; he never gave up. He fought for what he wanted. He will be remembered for his smiles and his knowledge of words. He was a great and loving father, husband and son.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; his daughter, Tristen, of the home; sons, Isaiah and Aden, both of the home; his parents, Curtis and Donna Sonstegard, Faxon; his sister, Dana Miller, Faxon. He also leaves behind numerous friends and other family members.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Harold Bowen.
