James W. 'Jim' Ingram

ELGIN  Funeral for James W. "Jim" Ingram, 76, of Elgin, will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 10, 2018, in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William F. Watkins, pastor of Locust Grove Baptist Church, east of Lawton, and C.H. Brazzel officiating.

Burial with Lawton Police Department Honors will be in Elgin Memorial Lawn, Elgin.

James W. "Jim" Ingram passed away Monday, March 5, 2018, in Lawton. 

He was born Aug. 27, 1941, in Rector, Ark., to James K. and Cleda Mae (Barker) Ingram. He married Linda S. Morales on July 6, 1974, in Lawton. Mr. Ingram graduated from Rector High School and Arkansas State University. He attended Officer Candidate School and was commissioned as an officer in the Marine Corps. He came to Oklahoma in 1966 and was employed by the City of Lawton. He joined the Lawton Police Department and later became a traffic officer, and then was with the "K-9" Unit. He was next a detective with the Narcotics and Vice Division and he retired as a lieutenant. Following his retirement he owned and operated an electronics and repair service for over 30 years. He was a musician for many years, and for the last 16 years he played with his band, "Creek" at the VFW. He ended his music career on July 4, 2015.  He then farmed and raised cattle. His hobbies included gardening, fishing and restoring old tractors.  

Survivors include his wife, of the home; four children: Mike Ingram and his wife Audie, Kennett, Mo., Emma Jo Ingram, Lawton, Jimmy Ingram, Kennett, Mo., and Kendrall Ingram, Lawton; six grandchildren: Tyler Ingram, Gavin Ingram and Ashley Ingram, all of Kennett, Mo., and Darnell Williams, Kendrall Yackeschi and Jacob Yackeschi, all of Lawton; five great- grandchildren: Bryson Ingram and Lyla Ingram, both of Kennett, Mo., and Eleanor Williams and Arte Williams, both of Lawton; a brother, Wayne Ingram, Rector, Ark.; a sister, Pat Barclift, Collierville, Tenn.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bob Ingram; sister, Vera Williams; and great-grandson, Kendrick Williams

The family will greet friends from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
