Doris 'Sam' Easterling

ADA  Graveside service for Doris "Sam" Easterling, 91, Ada, will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Easterling passed away Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at an Ada nursing home. 

She was born July 9, 1926, at Isabella, Okla., to Jerome Outhier and Lucy Irene Dumler Emmons. She graduated from high school and attended nursing school at University Hospital in Enid.

She married John Dierksen in October 1948. He preceded her in death Jan. 6, 1989. She later married Tom Easterling in February 1993. He preceded her in death in November 1997. Mrs. Easterling was a registered nurse at Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton until her retirement. She also served in the Army Nurse Corps.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane Mason of Ada; one granddaughter, Carla Holtzman of Ada; two great-granddaughters: Amelia Holtzman and Jemma Blue Holtzman, both of Ada; two sisters: Lois Morgan and husband John of Bartlesville, and Ruth Sturgeon and husband R. V. of Stillwater; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; a son, Bradley John Dierksen; three brothers: Chuck Emmons, Keith Emmons and Lloyd Emmons; and a sister, Betty Emmons.
