Funeral for Billy D. Smith, 103, Lawton will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, in Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Burns officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Billy D. Smith passed away Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, in Lawton.
She was born Oct. 21, 1914, in Lexington, Okla., to Thomas and Viola Collins Giles. She married Leeman James "Jim" Smith on May 25, 1936, in Garden City, Kan. He preceded her in death on Nov. 13, 1995.
During World War II she worked in an airplane factory in Santa Ana, Calif. She and her husband owned and operated Smith Grocery in Medicine Park from 1951 to 1956. She then worked at Wackers, Katy K Meat Co., and for Paul Beaty Office Equipment until her retirement. Billy was a member of First Baptist Church, Lawton.
She is survived by her son, Leeman James Smith Jr., Tulsa; a daughter and son-in-law, Viola Faye and Bill Burns, Lawton; five grandchildren: Mike Burns and wife Beth, Topeka, Kan., Steve Burns and wife Jalyn, Fort Worth, Texas, Kim Robinson, Lawton, Kevin Smith, Tulsa, and Jim Smith and wife Teresa, Lexington, S.C.; 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five sisters, two brothers; and a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth.
The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 pm Tuesday at the funeral home
