Annie Pearl Sheard-Hill
Funeral for Annie Pearl Sheard-Hill, 84, Lawton, will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10, 2018, in the Chapel of Howard-Harris Funeral Services (1005 SW "C" Avenue), in Lawton, with the Rev. Brandon Murray, officiating.
Annie Pearl Hill died Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, in Lawton.
Burial will be Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Lawton, under direction of the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 13, 1933, in Newport, Ark., to Calvin Sheard and Elzena Hale-Sheard. Early in life, she accepted Christ as her personal savior. She was married to George Hill. He preceded her in death.
She moved from Caruthersville, Md., in 1973 to Lawton to provide a better life for her children. It was there, she began her career as head chef at Ramada Inn, where she worked for over 30-plus years. She always had an open heart and opened her home to anyone who needed help. She won an award and crowned queen of the day.
Survivors include five sons and five daughters: Eddie Sheard, San Antonio, Texas, Robert Sheard, of California, Ralph Hill, of California, Katherine Ewing, Denver, Colo., Annette Proctor, Lawton, Bruce Hill, of Oklahoma, Maxine Ramey, Lawton, Mary Hill (Tommy Smith), Oklahoma City, and Wendy Sheard, Chicago, Ill.; three grandchildren whom she raised: Megan Ramey (Marco), of the home, Ahmad Ramey (ShaNeka), of Kansas, and Dominic Ramey, Lawton; as well as other grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: James Sheard and Calvin Sheard Jr.; and a grandson, Thomas Smith.
Viewing/visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at the funeral home.
